strange noise

i have started hearing a faint air/very quick light rattling related sound coming from what seems to be the front left hand side of the car , was wondering wether it could be the aircon or something??? its a bit hissing like but its not the exhaust as i have had that checked. seems to have started recently with all the local flooding and heavy rain but maybe thats just me being strange

could it be anything to do with this rattling???

It could be.

Get a lever and put some pressure on it and see if the noise goes away.

BTW its the belt damper

the noise is there when driving but not when stationary, the dampner rattles on tickover sometimes tho.

So... change the damper?

You may find that the damper's OK but that the metalastik bush on the top mount has broken up

The bushes on these dampers are prone to wear. The cost of a new damper is in the region of £30 and ita a 10 minute fix. Well worth doing.
