Evening all.
Sudden and unexpected, at the end of a short drive as I turned onto our drive I noticed the steering wheel making a binding/ rubbing noise. Same with engine off so not a power steering noise.
Anyone else experienced similar? How does the steering wheel/cowling come off? These cars are terrible for having hidden fixings. 2014 S class (only 34,000 miles).
Cheers, Tom..

Hi is your rubbing noise gone

Probably not, not driven since...
I got a similar issue on my when I first bought the car 3years ago,Arnold Clarke unable to find it after 2 visits to them. But later I went under the steering in front of pedal and pulled out plastic that cover steering rack or rod at the bottom and the noise went away, occasionally I still get the noise but once I put the plastic cover back a bit the noise goes away.try that it may work.I will see if I can get the picture to u.Open the drive knee down and pull it a bit.My was rubbing the steering column or down pipe.I will send the picture in the morning

That's interesting, I'll have a closer look...

My R129 developed a squeak from within the steering wheel boss. Turned out to be the collar that holds the indicator and cc levers had come loose a little and was turning with the wheel..

So I've got a couple of things to look at. How do these steering wheels come off, yank the cover off first?
