Sunroof sorrow

Just bought a beautiful 2015 E-Class 250 AMG Night Edition estate. It's got a panoramic sunroof which is all very lovely but it takes about half an hour to go back and forth. Any suggestions?

Does it have full MB service history? it should have been lubricated with a special grease...do not use WD40....Possible warranty issue or goodwill

Speak to your dealer. Handbook for my E states lubrication of panoramic sunroof every 4 years.
As above...special grease. No doubt others will recommend all sorts.

Thanks Guys. Good to know about the grease. Bought it from a very good quality 2nd hand dealer so no worries about provenence or service history. I’ll take it back and get them to fix. Cheers.

I had my local MB dealer do an interim service and got them add the roof lubrication in for about £25.

Make sure it’s the “proper” grease/lubricant and applied in the right quantities in the right places. It could be that it has been lubricated with the wrong stuff, and that’s what causing it to happen.

Based upon my experience, it’s best sorting quickly. Ours went from “is that slower than usual” to being stuck open with a couple of open/close cycles. As good as new once the dealer lubricated it.
