So I'm looking to drop my W204, and from researching the USA sites, the best way seems to be with H&R SuperSports Springs (40-45mm) and replacing the rear shims(pads/rubber things the springs sit in) with 5mm ones so that the car sits on less of a slope.

I was wondering if you guys could give me any advice as to whether these will cause any issues with the standard 17" AMG wheels, and when I uprate to 19" but lower the profile and keep the same offset, if I will have any issues.

I've been told by some places that it will be fine, others have mentioned excessive wear on the dampners, and one place mentioned having to change the camber pads(I think that's what they were called) to prevent wear on the front tyres.

Has anyone used these H&R SuperSports before and if so where did you source them, as other than importing from the USA, the only option seems to be CKS, but they don't specify them as the Super Sports, just as H&Rs that drop 40-45mm. I tried ringing them and asking them to look at the part number on the box/springs but they were less than helpful!

This is the sort of results the USA guys have had with these springs, and nothing else (obviously on larger rims than the 17" AMGs):

Hi, I'm in UK and have just had mine done with H&R springs. Have a look at my threads to see. Cheers

Was that the H&R Sports (20mm) or the H&R SuperSports (40-45mm)?

Maybe the heavier 6.3 petrol engine means a 20mm drop set is similar drop for the 40-45 on the 2.2 diesel.

It looks lovely. You've got a really nice car there.

Yeah the engineer said anything more than 20mm and I may get rubbing. Spaced 10mm so maybe without that I could have dropped more as the arch would not have come into play as much

Where did you get yours done?

I'm chatting with Acid and Imran at MSL about it all, and can't decide upon the suspension. They seem to think I can do the 40-45mm drop as the car is already dropped 15mm, so its really just another 25-30mm drop, and I'm only on 17" AMG wheels.

I had mine done in Thurruck by the guys at AMD. They lowered spaced and sec cat delete. Go with what you feel comfortable with without I guess making it look like a speed boat.
