The NAVY LARK - SUB COLLISION

Following the recent announcement that a British and French Nuclear submarine had collided

Loads and loads of stupid poo being sprouted by the media on this one.

It's not funny either as the chances of escape from a submarine in non-litorral waters if you go down are nil. The material consequences of losing a bomber with warheads don't bear thinking about - apart from the operational inconvenience to your deterrent you also have to start thinking about finding and recovering them.

I'm guessing this has happened because France and Britain don't cooperate on water space management for their bombers. Or alternatively one or other has quietly broken some sort of understanding on the matter and there has been an encroachment.
