Hi All, I have a C220 couple, on a 2015 plate (w204).

I want to fit a tracker to the car (there has been a spaight of car thefts in the area, and feel like it would be a wise idea.)

I've got no issues with piggy backing into automotive wiring (been doing it for about 20 years now) but I believe the Merc uses can-bus and I don't want to screw anything up.

Looking at the fuse box at the back of the car it looks like it comes out pretty easily, so cuting and soldering should be straight forward. I need a constant 12v and an ignition 12v. Any suggestions on which circuits I should use? Including a board map would also be really helpful too if possible please.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Many thanks.

I took mine from the front drivers side , possibly passenger side for a dash cam. Easy enough to remove both side panels and check.

Pin no.1 on the OBDII socket has permanent 12v feed, you can eaily pigiback into the wire behind the socket, though the fuse rating for the OBDII socket is low (from memory it's only 7A?), so you may be able to use that depending on the power consumption of the dashcam unit.

He's fitting a tracker 👍

Thanks for the advice. I've found a fuse board wiring diagram after some looking about online, and it looks like MB had the foresight to create a couple of "empty" banks in the rear fuse board (pins 67 through 80) some of these are populated and others are not. It looks like the "live" side is wired on all of them, but where there is no fuse there is no "output" or wire out, Is there anywhere I can purchase the inserts to push in to the rear of this?

Would make it easier than having to splice too! I wouldn't even know what to search for!

I've been probing the rear fuse box, and so far as I can see they are all permanant live.

Using this as a guide: Fuse Box Diagram Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W204; 2008-2014)
and https://mbworld.org/forums/attachme...d-450984/w204fusediagram-1--237448d1339240922

I thought that maybe fuses 67 to 73 would have been switched, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I thought that maybe they were on whenever the car was unlocked, and had a delay on them too, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
It looks like I might have been wrong, and all the circuits are switched lives. I cannot figure this out.
