Hi , new here on this forum and looking for advice ......my vito cdi120 06 reg has been in a local independent garage for 8 weeks now ,at first they thought it was various sensor problems , but now it seems the turbo itself is faulty (it wouldn't work at all , no warning lights ,no nothing ,engine just wouldn't "boost" .They are having a hell of a job trying to get the turbo off (this is the 3litre v6) is there some way of doing this without taking the engine out? As I say they've looked at every other cause of it not working so it must be the turbo? Thanks

Has anyone diagnosed the problem using the MB Star Diagnostics? Before you/garage pin all your hopes on the costly Turbo removal.

I have the same engine in my Viano. I have heard that the sub frame and engine has to be dropped to get the turbo off, but the turbo actuator can be removed in situ although extremely fiddly. Actuators can be a problem and can be fixed. See other threads.

I've had loss of turbo from faulty dpf sensor and limp mode from faulty gearbox control module.
