I broke the LCD on my cluster while trying to remove a piece of electrical tape someone had cleverly concealed in order to cover up some warning lights before I bought the van. C****.
Anyway, picked up another cluster off eBay rather than trying to repair the tiny ribbon cable. All works on the replacement, except the speedometer. It jumps a little on startup, then stays completely still. I also get a warning when it comes on, clock/spanner and the number 28.
Does anyone know if these things need re-coding? Odo hasn't changed, so I thought didn't think it was coded.
I understand there may be many problems like ABS sensors and pulse sensors. But I thought I'd ask if there's an issue with switching them first. If not, does anyone have a good resource for a procedure to follow with regard to troubleshooting a dead speedo?
