Clean it may be, but there is a lot of pretentious twaddle on there.

BY THE MID NINETIES MERCEDES ANNOUNCED, QUITE CONFIDENTLY, THAT THEY WERE STOPPING THE PROCESS OF OVER ENGINEERING ALL THEIR CARS AND THAT THE W124 E CLASS, THE LAST TRUE E CLASS WAS TO BE REPLACED.

I doubt the above.

It also has non-original wheels on it (OEM but 202/210 elegance I think).

Still a nice car though.

Nice car, although it's an E280, not a 280E. Very basic spec apart from leather.
Advert is funny - cylinder head overhauled in a laboratory?? Crescendo-shaped bonnet??
First thing it will need is a new engine loom.

Advert is more than funny it had me in stitches; how someone has the cheek to describe 6k old mile tyres as "virtually new" is beyond me. And as left the factory 14 years ago in the heading is also curious - the wheels are from a 210 elegance. Over the top service history with 8 stamps in 14 years sounds more like average to good than OTT. It has had a good day or two spent with a polishing mop though.
