W124 Belt Feeder

Is there anyone out there to shread some light on this matter? My passenger side belt feeder comes out but the motor continues to turn even when the feeder is on its limits. It stays on for ages and will only stop when the ignition is switched off. I force it back with ignition off. When ignition on again it sometimes works well or comes out and the motor continues to turn. I have checked micro switch on door, feeder motor and I have checked the points in the relay. Any ideas??

Sounds like the limit switch has failed.

One of mine came out unannounced and one of the microswitches had come loose and was not parallel to the track. Adjusted, tightened and all was well.

I fear that may not be the case for you but worth checking.

I swapped relays from drivers side. It now works perfectly. But I still need another relay. They are around £70 on ebay but i feel that I am buying something that might not work or is a lot older than mine. Does anyone know if anyone repairs theses relays?

It's probably this: A1248205026.

And they seem to be getting rare. My usual "discount" MB supplier is listing these at 700€ so, in your shoes, I'd get a couple. I know I have.

I've got spares on the back of buying used belt extender assemblies complete so that may be another option.

Assuming you intend to keep the car.
