Hi all,
I have a W124 with engine type 111 (E220),in the last few months I noticed some smoke coming out of the tail (exhaust),after searching for a long time I discovered it was carbon deposits at the valves and I used some additive (bought this additive from MB dealer here ) on the fuel to clean them with full throttle drive to drive cabon deposits away, thank God there is no smoke now,but technician told me your car will develop carbon deposits again,so I have to do this full throttle drive every once in a while,my question is : why the engine develop carbon deposits? is this normal? how can I avoid it? is it the driving style that could develop it (am a slowly driver,I don't like rushing and running) ? or the kind of fuel could help develop carbon deposits? (I use unleaded 95 octane) some technicians recommened to use 98 octane fuel as it contains less carbon, what do you think?
Thanks
