I seem to have lost the autochoke. Normally from cold the engine would idle at 1100rpm, then would go to 900 when a bit warmer then settle at 650 when warmed up. Now it starts at 500 and when its fully warm it idles around 850/900.

Also around the same time the electrics started to play up so that now the electric windows only work when the drivers door is open and so the plunger for the interior light is 'out' i.e. the interior light is on. Pushed in and the windows stop working. In addition the radio, cigarette lighter, rear headrest switch, interior light switch & heated rear window switch do not work at all.

Any ideas please. Thanks.

i think your car has an idle control valve, these often play up...

I think for the door you must have a break in the wire where it goes through to the door from car..

others.. fuse blown due to the above?

The radio and cigar lighter are on the same fuse and not part of the N10 relay that controls the heated rear widow.

Now the ignition switches do go wrong and the wiper, heated rear window radio etc can all go off when this fails.

To tie this into the starting fuel enrichment device that is activated by the ignition switch and starter, would make the ignition stitch a good place to start looking.

Yours is the all electronic engine so no idle control valves and the like. It is all controlled by the ECU and electrical signal feedback sensors.

It could be the coolant temperature sensor going out of spec which is common.

Cheap and easy to replace.
