I have a '91 230 coupe with an idle problem I'd like to get sorted.
The problem it has is on start up it only idles at 600rpm and feels like it's about to stall, once warm it's idling around 1000rpm, in neutral.
I have had a new idle control valve fitted and the timing set, and have today replaced the EZL resistor.
Any ideas to improve the start up revs?
Is there some sort of auto choke that should be working from cold?

This is the control valve I had changed

I have a very similar issue to this. When the idle is at its lowest point, can you open your petrol filler cap? I cannot when its idling low but I think I have a vacuum issue.

I would now be looking at the OVP relay, then the metering head (after a good read up on the Bosch jetronic fuel injection system). My W201 has always released air when opening the fuel cap, most do,not a concern.
