Just spotted a 1986 W124 250 Diesel Estate on a salvage site thats up for sale.....when you look at the bodywork closer and ignore the slight crash damage its surprising how little bodywork corrosion there is on this car, despite the astronomical mileage of 613,000 miles.

Here's the link

Just proves how well built the W124 series cars are :D

Cars rust less when they are used! It is sitting around all day going nowhere that encourages corrosion surely? :)

Yes I agree with that, but non-the-less, 613k of hammering up and down motorways on salty wintery roads over the years and being peppered with stones, you have to admit it, its not looking too bad and the interior, from what you can see of it is holding up pretty well.

I saw a 1997 215k E300 TD W210 go through auction recently and it looked as if it had been sitting up to its sills in brine for a couple of years....there was so much rust!!!!. I'm sure if you had pulled hard enough the top would have seperated from the bottom its was that bad

That looks amazing

Looks like a stolen recovered.

Wonder if the last owner knows it's up for grabs? She might have been their pride and joy.

I am impressed. If anyone wants it I have the bits it needs. £75 at the moment. A steal. Mind you I am biased :D
