Hi Guys, i have wired up a new radio but need to know which wires are for the areal. I have managed to wired it up and is working but the areal is not a happy chappy. has anyone got a wiring diagram for the radio on the 1994 W124 E series. Any help will be much appreciated.

The aerial "trigger wire" i.e. the one that sends a signal to the aerial motor to extend the mast when the radio is switched on is normally blue. The aerial itself has its own power supply wire and earth. The aerial is essentially a self contained unit with its own power and earth. It internal limit switches control movement. The only connection between aerial and radio are the trigger wire and aerial radio co-axial signal cable.
Usually any problems are earth connections or supply fuses and "corrosion on the connections" related.

Aerial trigger is a blue wire on the ISO loom going into the back of the radio. Most W124s with a Hirschmann aerial have white, black and red going into the aerial control box, white being the trigger and red the permanent live. Colours up at the radio end may vary
