W204 Boot liner

Hi just recently brought a 2011 C220 D saloon (w204) and the boot liner was cracked & messed up so thought I'd replace it... Stupid question but is there an insert that goes over the spare or does the liner sit directly on top of the spare wheel?

Insert. Usually the tool kit that screws out.

In my S204 not only is there an insert into the spare that holds things, there's also a tray with little different shaped storage areas where I keep a spare windshield wiper, spare bulbs etc as well as the fold down storage crate!

On my w204 saloon the boot liner sat on top of the carpet.

My boot liner is missing the foam padding underneath... I found one for £40 in really good condition online so just waiting till it arrives
