W204 C200 Compressor Front Coil Spring

Hi
I was told by my garage that front coil spring is snapped and needs to changed in pair. Because of the high tension they can`t do it and asking from a MB specialist.

I`m based in Worthing/West Sussex. Does anyone have an estimate on the cost of such a replacement ?
I watched a youtube video , it did not seem much harder than replacing a tyre but i`m far from being an expert

Just got the quote 235£ for one side and 470£ for pair. Bit more than I expected though

Price seems too high especially if it's not an MB main dealer. I've changed a single spring before without any issues with unequal ride height.

Seems an odd garage that doesn't have a spring compressor machine.

1 of my front ones snapped whilst in warranty, merc only changed the broken 1, i did ask about the pair and was told that that wasnt necessary

If the garage cannot change a front spring its time to find another garage! Should be a simple job for any half decent mechanic. Even quick fit offer that service (although I am not a fan)

Also the price does seem very high. I would keep looking

Merc f springs are not good to do, ideally you need a special spring compressor or fight with a normal 1

I’ve done mine on my driveway, I did have to get a slightly fancier spring compressor though. Springs were quite cheap less than 100 the pair if I remember correctly.
