W204 headlight switch not illuminated

Apologies I tried to see if this has been asked before but it was a tricky thing to forum search.

I noticed the headlight selector switch on my c class coupe W204 from 2014 is not backlit so in the dark it's difficult to see what you're doing. Sometimes I find I need to change this if the automatic headlight isn't being quite as intelligent as I'd like. Is this as standard or is mine broken?

On mercs they don’t have backlights, your is normal.

Leave it on auto, and let it do the rest.

Thanks for the confirmation. Auto works 99% of the time but have had an occasion already where I needed to change it because automatic wasn't appropriate and couldn't see.
