W204 no ignition no start

Hi there,

C200 cdi 2011 blue efficiency se

Drove the car home, parked up for couple of hours and went to start, no ignition and no crank. Tried with jump leads but same problem

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like the common ESL failure, it's steering lock that fails

You’d need a good electrician.

Search for “w204 esl emulator” to see some YouTube videos.

First of all you need someone with xentry to confirm it's the fault with steering lock, if it is then new steering lock or emulator can be replaced

UPDATE:

It was indeed the ESL problem.

Fixed at cost of £350.
