- w205 with 66.000 miles
- Full mercedes service history
- Driven carefully in comfort mode with no loads (just me, two laptops and a bag)

I started listening to a strange metallic clonking noise coming from under the car.
It only happens on specific occasions, there is no noise on speed dumps... but it is present on some potholes.
I could not see anything visually wrong, I just assumed something is lose with the exhaust system under the car

I toke it to the garage were tyres were replaced 4 weeks ago:
The car was lifted a few inches off the ground and with a tool them lifted the rear wheel and I could hear the noise.
Diagnostic: both rear shock absorber need replacement

I'm wondering if this is expected on the w205... from my ownership experience, rear shocks should last 3x times this millage.

The reality is by 60k that most shocks are past their best, but it's a gradual deterioration so people don't really notice the difference until there's cause to replace them such as an MoT failure.
