Hi, I have purchased a 2016 205 Est and have somehow manage to get a nick on the glove box facia (or not noticed it on test drive) and have been monitoring ebay waiting for a possible replacement as it is really bugging me. Today a possible replacement has become available but vaguely listed it seems to be correct part, I have been to compare the listed item to that in my own vehicle and it appears that the complete assembly has to be changed, however I cannot see anyway that the lock mechanism, or just barrel can be swapped over so I have the correct key, there does not seem any access to anything internally. Does anybody know whether it is possible to change over the lock/barrel as I think not having the correct key will bug me as much as the little nick does ?
Many thanks in advance ( and I will get round to introducing myself, been too busy reading posts )

Welcome sjprime.

I don't know the answer to your question, but does this help?:

Many thanks for the diagram, unfortunately it shows a breakdown of everything except the lock/catch which there doesn't seem any access to its fixing for removal and due to the design when open gives restricted view of the actual inside cover. Most glove boxes listed on the bay seem to be either damaged or tatty but the one listed today appears from the photo undamaged and from a late car. Perhaps for £50 I should gamble and buy first and try to work it out later :-)

Maybe worthwhile asking what spares are available at an MB dealership and specifically if the lock is available.

Yes lock comes out easily. Put key in, turn to 45 degrees and pull - you have to align things to re-assemble

Many thanks for replies.
The issue I might have then is the replacement still having original barrel in and no key blade being supplied to enable removal :-(
