Hi All,

Recently, I noticed the headlight selector switch on my W208 CLk 320 2001 is not backlit, does anyone know how to replace the bulb?

Thanks

I know my car is an C207 E class coupe 2011, but my light switch doesn't light up either, don't think they do from new, strange I know. So perhaps yours doesn't either. :dk:

Really that's so weird as how would you know about the other settings of the switch in the dark

the switch in question

lol, this made me chuckle as there was a similar thread back in the day.... the switch shouldn't light up if I recall correctly, something about a reflection in the side mirror?

I am 100% sure mine had a small clear bulb that illuminated the dial. The switch is too low down to give any reflections in the side mirror, Small bulb top left of the switch

Just found a video on how to access the light switch

Is the bulb in post #7 just to illuminate the 'P' park light position ?

I too was surprised when the light control switch on my 'premium brand' £50K+ (2006) AMG did not light up where as the one in my yr 2000 bottom of the range Opel Astra did .

When I popped the Mercedes switch out there were apertures to let light through but the printed circuit board behind it had no LED's on the PC board.

It came from the factory like that apparently. TBH on my car you can not read the switch while driving so not really a problem . I know where it is and what it does.

But it does seem odd.

I thought it would illuminate all the positions (5) in w208 CLK case

Do you know how to access it?
Your vehicle has a different switch to the one that has the illumination.

As ssud, your switch isn't illuminated.
