I've just bought a 2009 W211 E320 CDI with 135K on it, and I'm checking it over to see what might need sorting under warranty. My generic OBD reader brings up three fault codes:
U0423 (Invalid Data Received From Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module)
P0132 (O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 1)
P0101 (Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem).
The car idles smoothly, runs perfectly well, and is not smoking. The fuel consumption has been pretty poor, but that may be because the thermostat gave up the ghost on the way home, and the coolant temperature never rose above 60 degrees for the last hundred miles or so. I fitted a new OE thermostat today; now back to 90 degrees as normal.
The check engine light comes on then goes out as it should on start-up, and there are no dash warning lights on when driving. Should this be the case with the P-prefix fault codes? I haven't yet tried clearing them and seeing if they come back.
