Hi All!

Great forum you've got here, it's been a while.

So over the weekend I became the proud owner of a 2004 E500. Absolutel beauty.

So it's come with the Comand 2, Harmon Kardon sound, and a Nokia 6310i / Cradle. All working; even the 6310i was sat resting peacefully in it's cradle still after all these years.

I'd like to keep everything as original as possible, but I'd also like A2DP Bluetooth Support for my current smartphone - what are my options?

I say A2DP as I'd like to be able to stream music to the Comand 2 over bluetooth too, not just answer calls :)

Thanks in advance!

A Viseeo MB-3000 will enable your calls to be receieved and answered using the steering wheel controls but unfortunately it won't stream music. Now discontinued and only available occasionally on eBay.
Have a look in the glove box to see if there is an aux socket fitted. You can plug your smartphone into that with a 3.5mm headphone jack cable like this one.

If you want bluetooth streaming for music and phone calls, you need something like a Fiscon Bluetooth phone kit which you can get from Comand Online in Lightwater Surrey. Have you Vin# handy if you enquire as they use that to determine if the kit is suitable for your model/year

Thank you :)

I'm just going to use the Aux Input and I've a £1/Month SIM on the way for the Nokia 6310i which still works just fine :D

So SIM successfully installed and recognised by the 6310i and the car, but when I make or receive a call I can't hear the call through the car speakers, isn't the phone supposed to work in hands free speakerphone mode through the Comand?

I hardwired a usb plug into my glovebox and then bought a tunai firefly Bluetooth receiver so I play my music through Bluetooth which works through the usb. Saves the messy cables hanging around and works perfectly.

I think this is going to be the best option moving forwards really, especially now I've discovered my Xperia XZ2 doesn't have a headphone socket

Thanks for the input everyone :);)

My wifes 05 SL is running a 6310i via the cradle in the glove compartment and operates fine through the command unit visually and sound. I have a viseo something or other with a separate sim for the cls which is also fine, so it should work as you have it setup.I assume you've tried turning the volume up during a call and have checked that the MUTE is not on either the car or the phone itself.

It's easy enough to do I've wired mine to the cigarette lighter so it's not on permantly, calls don't work through it but I'm not bothered. It's a really small unit aswell so minimal space needed.
