E280CDi estate
Located Wokingham, Berkshire. MOT to July 2025.
Offers over £1,000
210,000 miles. Unlikely to go up much as now a spare car.
2 keys, owners books and service records. Some MB and latter non-franchise
Turbo and oil coolers seals replaced by previous owner some years ago.
I purchased the car sight unseen August 2020 at 180,600 miles - Hence the significant amount of expenditure to put all the usual problems right! my mistake and won't do that again.
Bodywork average - various scrapes, small stone chips all over the front, rear bumper O/S damage, N/S rear arch starting to rust. Stone chip on lower windscreen O/S outside of MOT area - it was there when purchased and not progressed any further as were all of the scrapes and scratches.
Headlights had new projector lenses to cure poor illumination, lamps were bright but not putting out light - big improvement.
Lots of front suspension work, rear discs, rear air bags, gearbox fluid flush via cooler lines to fully clean out - no issues at all with the gearbox.
Wheels re-furbed a couple of years ago and still looking excellent - tyres replaced at the same time - Dunlops front - budgets rear
Points of note are I replaced both rear brake lines from flexi hose to where sound underneath on both sides - You tube video showing the work:
Injectors replaced back in 2020- one of the first jobs done.
see the attached log of parts replaced and service/repair work carried out. It is significant! The car has many miles of reliable mooring left its just the bodywork that lets it down.
Other than glow plug No. 5 sheared off at the top (does not blow as the threaded part is still intact, just the 8mm top missing) and load compartment cover not retracting automatically everything works.
Parking sensors always a nuisance when it rains and sometimes dry - needs one on the front and rear replacing or connections cleaning based on diagnostics.
Reasonable spec' only thing missing is heated seats.
Was a 7 seater but I de-commissioned the rear load space seats to free up useable extra storage and save weight
Air-con properly extracted and re-gassed, sat nav works, all electric seats etc work. No ABS issues, no warning lights (other than aforementioned glow plug lamp that illuminates for 1 minute after starting.
Replaced alternator due to wear on commutator and also water pump
Over £5k spent on parts (I did all the work) plus some service work carried out by a local MB specialist. All receipts available.
Interior is in above average condition and the main reason why I have kept it.
Offers invited over £1,000. Market value is probably at bit less based on mileage and bodywork but mechanically its had all the normal problems that a new owner would need to start spending out on like I did after purchase. Prices on these are hard to gauge as overall condition is variable and understandably if you are not able to do the work yourself then can be expensive for even modest repairs.
viewing available pretty much any day of the week/weekend. Rules say I cant include phone number so 'start conversation' to message me or [email protected]
