Hello dear Members,

I’ve recently purchased an E320cdi sedan. It is beautifully speced, one owner, low miles, with panoramic glass roof and factory fitted AMG spoilers, AMG alloys Harmon Kardon etc.

I love it !

1. It does however have 70/30 rear folding seats that squeak and creak at every bump and bend in the road, frankly it’s driving me nuts !!!!

2. Also though I like the alloys, I prefer the 18” 10 double spoke alloys that came standard on this model, how do I find out if any member would be interested in a swop ?

I’m new to the club and was hoping for some wisdom and advice ? Is there a fix for the creaky seats, is this a common problem?

Thanks,

Naeem

Hi.
You will have to look at rear seat fixings, i suspect they are leather, are you not sure its just the leather rubbing against leather (in the join of the seats) You could try using some sponge, push a bit in the gaps, drive and see if noise gone, if not repeat in another place, when you find the culprit, it can be silenced with a bit of foam.
Regarding wheels, you could try in the for sale bit here, but suggest a swap.
Failing that, look on e bay for the wheels you want and buy them, once fitted you could then sell yours

Hi there,

It sounds more like a metal sound than the leather squeaking, I’ll try the foam idea and post back some feedback.

Thanks for the advice.

Have any other members had this problem with rear folding seats ?

Not on a Mercedes, our old TD5 had same issue, part of the problem was where seat catch was, it was loose in the catch. I put a small bit of insulation tape in the loop bit that engages the catch, and then a bit of foam to stop rattle of seat. Worked for quite a few years.

Sounds good, I’ll give it a go tomorrow.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum Naeem.
I have the same split seats in my W211, but fortunately don't suffer from any squeaking. That would drive me mad after a while.

Hi
Not yet, I’m traveling at the moment, I’m going to attempt a solution in the new year
