Hi folks,

I did a random oil check today since the car is not used very often and the last time it was checked was about 10 months ago after oil change.

There is some oil damp around the filler cap and some fresh oil in the engine holes ( sorry i am not that technical). Definitely not a coolant, it appears to be pure oil when wiped. Had no big oil smells, nothing like that.
Some said could be just the oil cap needing replaced dye to worn sealant.

Anyone had similar problems, I will attach pictures. You can see the oil by the shine on the pictures.

Difficult to see....but the first pic looks like the spray pattern you can get from a leaking injector....any faint chuffing sounds when running the engine with the cover off?? This could lead to
Black Death as said above. Any splatter on the underneath of the engine cover or faint exhaust fume smell when idling in traffic?

Might the filler cap not have been put on properly ?

Sound like a normal diesel engine to be honest, cant see any oil anywhere from the engine view. Also, no oil leaks visible underneath cover.

OP , you need to watch some of the horror videos available online regarding The Black death , a LOT of it on MB engines including yours.

It's no laughing matter. I sincerely hope it does not apply to your car , but if it does , get it sorted ASAP.

Here is how you get Black death injectors out if they are REALLY stuck.

Well… Contacted my local guy, will fit me this week. I will update with the outcome. Thanks

Hi guys,
**UPDATE**
Had a checkup today, doesnt look like injector problem. Or when i mentioned black death, been told you crazy? Checked the bolts on the rocker valve gasket and found that most of them were loose, in fact, almost all of them. Everything was tightened and cleaned. Been told to give it few days and monitor. Could be possible that need to change the whole rocker valve gasket.
