W212 sometimes delay before indicator lights activate

Hoping someone can pinpoint me in right direction. This morning my right indicator stopped functioning (all 3 lights- front, wing mirror & rear), I then realised it would function after maybe 5 or 10 or 15 seconds- a delayed activation. Sometimes I needed to push the indicator lever a second time to get the lights to activate.
I then established that this was happening on both sides.
But sometimes it wouldn't work at all (not even a delayed reaction).
The hazard lights appear instantly from what I tested.
The car passed MOT fine last week & I drove it all weekend without noticing this issue.
One of the rear LED units was replaced by MB dealer around 11 months ago.

I use my car as a Taxi therefore need to fix asap. For what it was worth, my MB used car warranty expired last week.

I'd suspect the stalk is failing, contacts need cleaning or are broken.

Hi, If it was a cleaning issue- could a non-mechanic like myself be able to handle it? If so, how would I do it? Or should I look to take to a local garage? Thanks
