Sorry I don’t know how to run a search but I want to take off the steering wheel to replace as I’ve scratched mine. It’s a 2015 CLS. I know how to get the air bag off but not sure how to go from there. Thank you

Once the airbag is off, loosen (you might need a long bar and someone to hold the 'wheel still) but don't remove, the large nut in the centre well in the steering wheel. You may have to really heave to pull the 'wheel off the centre splined column. Leaving the nut loosely on the column stops you getting a smack in the mouth when it finally comes free!
Remove the nut and very carefully pull the wheel of the column. You'll notice the column is marked as is the spline collar in the wheel, line these up when refitting. Do not disturb the 'clock spring' & steering angle sensor that sits below the steering wheel.
Keep the IGN off whilst the airbag is disconnected or you'll get the SRS error.

Awesome. Thank you. Do I need to disconnect the battery first?

It can be done connected but safer (regarding the airbag removal) to disconnect
