I have currently bought a 2002 220cdi auto day van camper which stunk of tar through the vents after a run.
After taking covers off see Black Death photo below before and after.
This had taken me a full weekend to clean off and 1 injector was seized in solid which I managed to get out with a puller.
I have recut all injector seats and replaced all 4 injectors with new bolts and copper washers.
The van now runs mint apart from air getting in the centre fuel feed line on diesel filter, air bubbles are clearly visible when engine running. After leaving van over night she won’t start due to rail pressure drop, the only place I have disturbed is the return leak off pipe on which I replaced the 4 o rings.
Maybe I should of replaced the hoses and tees.
Any one had anything similar ?
I have also changed the o ring on the fuel pump to fuel filter line with plastic fittings on.
Need to get this bomb proof for summer camping this year
