Hi everyone,

I fancy changing the exhaust tips on the 2003 CL600 to a pair of twins instead of the existing, small singles. Had a look on tinternet and the choice is bewildering, but what will fit?

As per the attached 'photo, the rear bumper is standard and the problem is getting some twins which will fit without modification through the small cut-outs, and still look good.

Has anyone done this, please, and/or any advice welcome. Am I looking at having to modify the cut-outs?

Thanks.

Personal opinion: twin pipes on each side need the bumper with separate diffuser.

You'd only get a pair of peashooters out the existing cutout and I think cutting it bigger is not a nice look.

The factory 65 looks wonderful and is what I would target if I were in your shoes. (And incidently is exactly what I did with my C216 600)

Hi Swotty, that appears to be a beautiful car (I miss my old CL!)
I think you'll have to get hold of a CL55/65 rear bumper with the correct sized cut-outs to make it look good. To try and get two small pipes in each aperture would not improve the look at all IMHO, but what do I know :dk:

Kind regards Matt

Thanks guys - I feared that was the answer!

Had a quick look on tinternet and aftermarket stuff is an arm and two legs. It also seems a lot of hassle to change a couple of exhaust tips, even if I can find a 55/65 diffuser.

Guess this will go on the back burner ..... "A" service coming up shortly anyway. 😒

Thanks again.

A is the cheapo, or should be.

Yes, you're right, but I also need the front suspension triangles replaced - last quote was around €2,000.

Maintenance first, beauty second.

'Suppose it's similar to marriage. 😉
