Sorry for asking what will be to most a simple question. But the blue circle item is dry, in that there is no reading on the gauge..

Power stering fluid expansion tank with built in filter . It's a service Item that is replaced when you service the power steering . open it and check the fluid level via the built in dip stick.

Thats not good . The system only holds just over a litre. search which fluid you need (MB have 2 ) other makes are obviously available buy mixing the wrong ones together is not a good thing to do.

I would check for a leak underneath as well , it shouldn’t be dry .

It was the first thing I did to be honest and no signs yet. However, when I do refil it, then I should be able to tell lol

If you have just bought the car , maybe worth a conversation with the dealer as to why it’s dry ?

I doubt they would even know anything about it mate. Told me it had been serviced and MOT'd, neither of which happened. I passed the car to my local MB dealership for a service and MOT, which the dealer then paid for in full.

So the MB dealer should be approached ? After all they must have checked it ??
