What's that on my dash?

Is this small circular item a sensor or part of the alarm system?

Cabin air temperature sensor. There will be a small fan behind the grill to draw air over the sensor.
Can be useful to give it a vacuum now and again... While you're at it give those mats a good going over!!

Thanks for the info. It's booked in for a warranty fix soon, so the mats will have a good going over then!

Those are usually mounted in the RVM

i wouldnt go daft hoovering that tbh , the wires to the thermistor are thinner than a human hair and can snap so easily . a quick suck n thats it maybe.

Yeah, it's the internal air temp sensor. You can tell, because it gets full of dust because of the fan drawing air in. A mic wouldn't have that.
