Whirring noise from overhead panel

The past few days when I've got in the A35 from cold I've noticed a whirring noise which appears to be coming from the overhead panel/unit that contains the SOS/pan roof buttons etc. It starts as soon as I unlock the car and open the driversl's door. Once the car is warm the noise stops and functionally everything appears to be working as normal. However, it reappears when I get in the car from cold. It has only started to do this recently during the current cold snap. Has anyone else experienced something similar or know what this may be? I'll continue to monitor over the next few days as the temperature in the North East is due to increase. If it continues then I'll get it booked in to be looked at.

Could it be an aspirator fan for monitoring the cabin air temperature? Is there a grill in the OCP?

There's a fan in overhead control panel, does your a/c still work okay? Usually when the OCP fails then the a/c doesn't work u till dial it at lowest temperature setting

Yes, I think it could possibly be that. There are two grills on either side of the unit. Mine looks like the one below

Yes A/C appears to be working as normal. I've had it on constantly to aid with de-misting. As I say it only whirr when I first open the door from cold without turning the ignition on. Once the cabin is warm it stops.

Yeah sounds like the fan, although it shouldn't be whirring

Thanks both, I'll monitor over the next few days to see if anything changes if/when it gets warmer. Will probably get it booked in to be checked anyway.
