Interesting video, a country where people like their Mercedes. I had no idea, wonder if there are any other countries.

On a (slightly) similar subject, watching the exodus of Russian males fleeing possible conscription, given Putin's rant that anything associated to "The West" is the spawn of the Devil, it was interesting to note how many of the vehicles in the queues to leave the country were BMWs, Mercs, Audis and VeeDubs.

Shipped how exactly???Please tell me more as I'd really like to know where you got that information from

Please be kind to show me where it states Albania or Albanians?I searched for the article on dailymail but all I can find is chop shops within the UK

So you went from Dailymail.to Fleetnews and then to the Guardian. Please don't believe everything you read
As for Crime etc,all Existed way before Albanians were traveling around Europe

A lot of my Albanian colleagues/friends tell me the same and when I lived in Greece I was told by Albanians that a lot of Greek plated Mercs are stolen and very often end up over the border.

Loved the Youtube video, very informative and interesting.
Poor roads in Albania are one of the the reasons why Mercedes is a popular car in this country.

Watching Top Gear episode when Clarkson and his sidekicks testdrove MB S-Class with a fat dude in the trunk explains it all.
On every street corner there is a Benz.
Shqiptars loves their bonnet Star.

I have neighbours who are from Kosovo.
They drive BMW not Mercedes.
Very nice people  who registers their vehicles on goalman (scammers 💩) which is not the real owner of the vehicle!
This is the reason why they don't own their vehicles on V5 documents, my Kosovo-neighbours are real entrepreneurs cheating wellfare for money.
In Sweden you're not allowed to own an expensive car and live on wellfare, that's why many people lie and cheat wellfare!

This family from Kosovo, my neighbour sub-let her apartment while she was cheating wellfare.
Getting wellfare and earning dirty money on the side, great business.
She got busted by wellfare but didn't get indicted in court.
In Sweden you're only a winner if you're a crook!

Interesting video....but in case any of you are thinking of making your tyres look new with a coat of Vaseline (like the guy in the film)....don't do it!. Vaseline degrades rubber pretty fast which is why you should never use it as a lube for....erm?.....other rubber products!!! It can perish them before you finish the ...job ...as it were!
A few years back a friend went abroad for a year....he put his Honda Fireblade in the garage ....and to give it extra protect he smeared lots of parts in Vaseline......anything rubber it touched was ruined, Front tyre, front brake hoses, front mudguard rubber mounts, rear wheel bearing outer seal.....plus more. Visually the most interesting was the O ring sealed chain.......all the rubber O rings had swelled to about twice their original size and forced their way out from between the links.

uhm that video might or might not be true for the years till about 2004 but that was exactly the same for most of Eastern Europe. These days Mercedes make a tiny minority of cars with W123 and W124 all but disappearing from the roads. The W123 // w124 and w201 you could fix with a hammer and a screwdriver so it made sense to get well-built, cheap (in the 90s), and with plenty of parts available from Germany.

Furthermore, the video has our fearless/clueless Deutche Welle journo clinking glasses with a fedora-wearing Albanian dude. However the liquid is not clear (Albanian Raki, but rather whisky-like in texture almost like Macedonian Rakija. The clincher (pun intended) is when the Fedora-wearing guy says Zdravo not Gezuar, making this a BS video

The next most popular would have been the w210 which rusted to nothing and the w211 whose electronics made it less reliable.

As for the one that says stolen is the name of the game, that might have been true for a few S classes and E Classes in the 2000s but that avenue closed with the introduction of the TIMs border system that tracks chassis numbers and logbooks of cars entering and leaving Albania. It was mostly insurance scams perpetrated by Italian and German users especially those not wanting to be burdened with heavy finance post the 2008 crash.

Some examples there bring..
Edi Rama the capitals Mayor... bs bs bs

But Edi Rama has not been Mayor of Tirana since 2011 (for the mathematically challenged that's 11 years ago). It also cites Et'hem Ruka as Minister of the Environment who ceased to be minister in 2001. So again you are basing an assumption on something from freaking 21 years ago.

But it's always easier to blame a country you know nothing about based on a single YouTube video and a formerly fascist-supporting news paper that even Wikipedia thinks is unreliable.

Moral of the story, don't get your knowledge from borderline racists

Have you been to Albania?

How many times have you driven in Albania in the last 30 years?

I have seen lots of videos on Youtube, this is a poor country but many poor people can afford to drive Mercedes, wonder how?
Most poor people rides horse and carriage in this country.

If you have seen Ghoblin Works on Discovery when they bought an MB W123, made it into an off road vehicle, this reveals how their roads are in the country.
Albaina is one of the most poor countries in Europe.

With watching videos on YouTube so is Sweden. and terrible with their old

Swedens most "dangerous" Ghettos . Malmö - Rinkeby.https://www.youtube.com › watch

Walking around the streets of the ghettos of Stockholm , Swedenhttps://www.youtube.com › watch

Are care homes the dark side of Sweden's coronavirus strategy?https://www.youtube.com › watch

I mean are you really serious? You get stuff from YouTube, did you leave rational thinking at the Swedish Democrats sign book?

From what I can see, I left this Forum in 2016 once I changed and it was getting into a EDL echo chamber then rather than car advice, I see nothing has changed
