Wing mirror indicator Light

Morning ladies and gents,

To set the scene…I don’t typically mod my cars. I currently have the 2017 model c43.

With the caveat out of the way let me describe my issue.
For Christmas I received some cool puddle lights which will project ‘amg’ onto the ground via the wing mirrors. So I’ve swapped out the oem lights and installed the new ones this morning. Unfortunately, although the left one seems to work fine I now have an error on the dash stating something about the right wing mirror indicator. Which no longer works.
There’s no damage to the plastic or wiring (that I can see!) and it’s not a major issue…however i was wondering whether someone may be able to offer some advice on how to fault find or fix the issue.
Any thoughts are welcome!

Try plugging your original light in and seeing if the error goes.
If it is, it suggests that the new light is either faulty or not drawing enough current to fool the sense circuit.
Which you can prove by swapping the two new lamp round.
Pain in the bum but at least you’ll have a definite answer.

Edit: might have misread this.
If it is the indicator repeater that has stopped working, a common fault is a break in the wiring into the mirror. You will have to check this out and repair it or get a good auto electrician to do the job.
Might be worth getting the other side done at the same time.

Hey Ted, thanks very much! It seems it was a case of ‘third time lucky’, i.e. the third time I took everything apart and put it back together it magically works again…perhaps my career as an electronics tech should wait a while….
