Just found out my recent purchase has 'magic vision' wipers!
Does anyone know where to obtain new blades? or is it only a MB dealer supply?
Don't need them yet, but just thinking of the future!!
Cheers

MB only. I had them on my SL.

From memory they were circa £100 for the pair.

Find the part number then try MB Newcastle via eBay - they were circa 40% cheaper than my local dealer.

What makes them "magic vision"?

Water passess through the rubber component of the blade itself and squirts out ahead of the blade as it wipes.

On the SL you could wash the screen with the roof down and not get wet. Also didn't obsure your vision with the initial spray.

It's a very good design.

Now that is cool.. I've often thought there should be a better way of clearing the screen. :thumb:

Quite effective, but not a new invention, though... :D

I had these type of wipers on our 1997 Toyota Previa, with the windscreen washer nozzles embedded in the blades. The idea is that you never change the entire blade, instead Toyota sell just the rubber inserts. A bit fiddly to replace them, but doable.

My magic vision blades are also heated (they do a non heated version) so make sure you get the correct ones!

How do you know if heated or not??
Not entirely sure, I know there are electrical connections on mine but don't know if the non heated ones also have an electrical connection?

Thats how I used to do the the wipers on my W124 years ago.
Think I actually changed the wipers themselves twice and it was just the rubbers annually.
This modern stuff doesn't allow "sensible" car maintenance.

Lexus tend to just replace the rubbers. Had it done on my RC a couple of times by the dealer.
If one buys to diy, then it's the complete metal holder and rubber.
