Mercedes-Benz C200 Kompressor Sports Coupe
Hi there,

I am new to all this, I am only 20 years old would like a new Mercedes-Benz.

I am wondering how much you lot would pay for my car, so I'll have a rough price to price it at.

My car is a C200 Kompressor Sports Coupe
- 2002 - 02 PLATE
- 37,000 MILES
- TAX - 31/11/2008
- MOT - MAY 2009
- SILVER
- ALLOYS
- PETROL 6-SPEED MANUAL
- AIRBAG
- 3 DOOR HATCHBACK
- FULL SERVICE HISTORY (FSH)
- POWER ASSISTING STEERING (PAS)
- FRONT AND BACK FOG LIGHTS
- FRONT AND BACK SENORS
- RADIO/CD PLAYER

Could everyone give me a rough price.

Cheers

Lol. Being manual would count against it...myabe I'd pay only £8k. Try an online evaluator to give you an idea. It was maybe £19k new, its now 5 years old, more than 50% of the vlaue will have been lost

hmmmmm with the new c-class coupe coming out soon £5800.
Other reasons being, that there is no leather, no command and it being a manual.

I dont know what to replace it with. any suggestions?

Whats your budget for the new car, what do you use it for? Suggestions are no good unless we have some idea of what you from your cars.

I have an E class and am not that much older than you and love it. Perhaps you may think a saloon is a tad ageing and I'd say a CLK would be a better better for you retaining all the practicallity of your coupe with more stye and better performance.

That sounds cheap?

I had a quick look on piston heads as a guide and I think it woudl sell quick for £7.5K

yes it would due to the mileage... if you really wanted to achieve max price you could price well over 9K for a private sale..

I have a similar car with higher miles than yours but better spec up for £8990...

Why don't you go to an MB dealer and see what they will give you in part exchange. Then you can decide whether you will take the deal or would prefer to accept the hassle of selling privately but probably get a bit more.

Are you looking to buy new or nearly new or older? The new C class is well worth a test drive IMO. But get auto next time. More resaleable and over 90% of UK Mercedes are auto. Fabulous gearboxes. Nobody goes back to manual.

Fabulous gearboxes. Nobody goes back to manual.

Too right.

Budget and his insurance (age 20) will also be a factor. Get a sound quote before any purchase. A CLK 200k or a CLK220cdi IMO would be a nice car for a young fella (well my age bracket). A W204 C class would be a sound recommendation also or maybe even an E class.

agreed on the not going back to a manual, unless I wanted a drivers car, for example when I had the E55 I wanted something small, sporty and go kart like to drive as well, A ford Puma fitted the bill well, but would have been crap if it was an auto

Formula 1 drivers seem to manage OK with auto boxes. Well semi auto paddle shifts.
