AS my title suggests it is now day five trying to remove the injectors in my vito.
i have tried wd 40, lusol, coca cola and a heat gun along with several chisels, a newly purchased slide bar kit, and a 4 foot long pry bar, and all i have succeeded in doing is breaking the injector that is left after removing the other three and damaging the rocker box cover.

Being optimistic i now need a replacement injector and a rocker box cover so if anyone has said items for sale i am in the market.

Albeit i am usually a placid and easy going individual i am now getting to the end of my tether. any advice would be good.....thank you

The injector body (the bit stuck in the head) will need to be drilled out...really a specialist job because if you go too far in with the drill bit you will render the head scrap. Did your slide hammer tool fit into the injector clamp recess or screw onto the top of the injector. My kit does both methods but the clamp area is the strongest point to inertia on...I had to grind the supplied puller down to prevent cam cover damage. There are specialists that can help you for a cost as i am sure you are aware. Good luck

my slide hammer tool did as you say have two methods (screw and claw) but both now rendered useless as injector and cam cover now both broken.

Now thinking of calling in said specialist to drill it out as i am not physically able to persevere any more as i am disabled and nearing 68 years of age..thank you ..Mike

i am also located adjacent to Queensferry in North Wales.....anyone local to attempt this????

Well at least you gave it a bloody good go.

Goggle throws up some mobile guys who will pretty soon tell you if they are not going anywhere near drilling out injectors.

Being 68 years of age Sir, you will be well used to knowing a "wrong un" when you speak to one.

Let us know how you get on.

They are a pain to get out sometimes. On one very rare occasion I removed the top of the injector and welded a 2ft length of steel tube to it, I was then able to twist the injector free whilst gently levering it upwards with a small pry-bar.

Good shout with welding. The heating and cooling helps loosen any corrosion. As I do a lot of welding I'm fortunate enough to have a TIG welder allowing very precise welding without the sparks. Gets the broken rusty studs and screws out every time.
