Never heard of it...

A limited edition based on the GTi-16v model was introduced in 1989, modified by German tuning company AMG (now owned by Mercedes-Benz), with mildly uprated engine (170 PS or 125 kW or 168 hp) and unique bodykit, alloy wheels, and full leather interior. The AMG appearance treatment was also achieved on the Debonair for 1986.

Can't say I've ever heard of one either but I guess when they were independent - they could do what they want.

Probably why MB bought them.

Yes they has a tie in with Mitsubishi in Japan before Mercedes invested. They were after all an independent tuner at that stage in their life.

Of its time, I suppose. To me, it looks rather like a cross between a Honda Prelude and a Rover 213.

I thought I read somewhere that Mitsubishi had something to do with the development of the early merc 2.2 16v engines ???
