Hi have a c270 203 , my window wiper drivers side
doesn't go to 90degrees it stops goes back down
I can take wiper arm off re position it then it
will go up all the way . But then sits high when at rest
can I adjust the mech or anything they work fine.
But don't completely clear drivers view ?

Hi Mark,

Don't think there is any adjustment on these wipers and if you're not getting a full sweep it's probably wear in the linkages due to lack of them being lubricated. I'm sure I've seen a comment or posting on here about lubricating them, but can't remember where it was.
Is there any play in them?
I'll upload a photo which I've just taken of my wipers so that you can compare the maximum sweep position against yours.

Also see the diagram which shows the wiper mechanism parts. If you need to replace the linkage, item number 30 is the drivers side (short linkage) and number 40 is the passenger side (long linkage). You may need to replace both to fix the problem.

I think the part numbers are #30 - A203 824 01 05 or A203 824 02 05 and #40 - A203 824 03 05.

This is usually caused by the cranked joint that attaches to the motor by a 13 mil nut.
It will be slightly bent. Have had this many times before

Hi thank you for replies , my wipers don't go up to
that angle so drivers vision when it rains isn't clear
Find my self tilting my head to the left so as to get
a clear view ahead. Looks like I will be ordering these
Parts & replacing them . Thanks again .Mark

You don't need to order any parts. The moveable parts of the linkage rarely wear.
It needs stripping and the cranked connection straightening slightly

EDIT: Sorry Alf, You added your last post while I was uploading the pic. lol

Mark, you may not need the linkages according to what Alf says. Check them for wear before you order them.

Alf, Can't see the cranked arm joint on the diagram but know which bit you mean.

Picture attached, item between the yellow brackets and above the line.
Can it be bent back to the correct shape or is it best to get a new one?

(Ignore the black arrows, they are the motor mounting bolt locations).
