Hi Gang
I ran a lovely W124 280te for a while in 2005-2006, which I posted about on this board, I now need a load-lugger again and am not too bothered about fuel economy as the mileage won't be excessive so I thought I would look up the W124's again and it would appear that prices have...
Good luck with your new venture - I set up in business 5 years ago and although it's not always a bed of roses I would not want to go back to being employed.
I am contemplating selling
1993 280TE 24v in metallic blue
120K, FSH mostly MB (HG was done at 50k)
Rare optional 5 speed auto, (fully recontitioned recently at great expense!)
Aircon (nice and cold)
15" 8 hole alloys
Very very clean inside and out, it seriously looks like a five year...
Could be an ok buy IF it's ok mechanically.

Personally I would not put a sports exhaust on a 190 2.0 as it would spoil the character of the car for no real benefit.
I have got a Janspeed system on my 200sx but that is part of some mild mods that produce an extra 50hp :bannana:
One of my customers has just taken delivery of two B class, I'm not sure about them to be honest, "posh Scenic" springs to mind although I will reserve final judgement until I have had a closer look!
Sounds like a lovely car, same model as mine but 3 years newer. The price you have been offered from the trader seems pretty good considering ne needs to turn a profit on it/warrant it etc. There is a very knowlegable chap on here who buys and sells W124's I'm sure he will be along shortly with...
It's nice to know an old friend is in good health, I must admit I spent a few hours on the DLVA road tax checker site the other day looking up some of my early cars cars to see how long they lasted after I sold them.
Maybe it sat in storage for a long time, or maybe it is an import?
Of course the seller could be confused, he does seem to think it does over 45mpg
food for thought there, I must admit I was chucking it about today in the wet and like you say it feels very safe, I don't want to spend loads and I don't want to spoil the ride so you could be right.
I'm very pleased with my car overall but being used to much more modern machinery I would like to sharpen up the handling a bit.
I was thinking 16" rims with 205/55 tyres and new (uprated?) front dampers would help but what did the 'sportline' package for the estates consist of?
Maybe I'm just spoiled, mine has no hint of rust on the arches.
There is a large lip under there which collects wet mud and dirt, if it is not cleaned out regulary then yes the arches will rot through eventually.
