Cost to replace the motor and two gaskets is north of £550. Apparently as my car is a V6 not the straight six... said it was 5hrs of work... Any comments appreciated...

I had the same problem with my E211 320 CDi and got it fixed by a dealer.. Cost was just under £600... ouch..

Gave in and took it to an independent MB shop. Put it on the STAR system and came up with a fault on part M55. This is a motor to open and close air shutters on the engine (as you can tell I am not very technical). Electrical problems have gone for now.. seams like I have an intermittent...

engine not reving above 3000 and high/low voltage issues shown on non STAR system...

W211 problem solved? Did you find out what the issue was as I have a similar problem with my W211 E320 cdi?

Or if anyone has any ideas what it might be pls let me know...
