Could be the exhaust back pressure sensor, I could tell it was that on mine when my car started behaving erratically not changing gears when it should not revving properly, basically restricted power. I did have a few codes but the pressure sensor on live data was showing a value which was the...
It's not really that costly I think it cost me approximately £180 to get mine refurbished by ECU testing, but mine was showing a couple of speed sensor codes. You could phone up the company and they are very helpful if you describe the symptoms. By the way I have 2007 E320cdi.
Maybe it's not the...
Glow plugs are 4.4v beru and the correct ones for my engine. The relay is supposed to be the correct one and it's been in for a while now, I think the best bet is to monitor the situation and see if the fault persists, if it does then go for a new relay.
Sorry for the late reply but I had another issue with the car after changing the glow plug, turned out it was the exhaust back pressure sensor making the car do all sorts of weird stuff. Yes I did test the plugs after removal and they were open circuit, I did think of the relay being at fault...
So over the last few months I have been getting the glow plug light staying on after start up and each time I have had to replace a glow plug as listed by my old foxwell scanner (altogether I replaced 3 over a period of 6 weeks)and this cured the faults. I had some old glow plugs so I used them...
I drove my e320cdi for a while with the resistor in and it was not the same, as bellow mentioned throttle response wasn't there and low end power was lacking, ended up fitting a new motor and if I remember rightly the turbo had to be removed along with fuel filter and some other bits and pieces...
Ok, I'm just going to leave it for now as where I usually park it's not going off and if it does get worse I'll unplug it and maybe find a replacement at a reasonable price. Thanks everyone. 🫡
What's been happening is audible alarm has been sounding with lights flashing then the it stops sounding and lights keep flashing till I unlock and lock again. I've just scanned but no fault codes for alarm logged.
If I remove it will it not cause any other time issues with the car. Would the car lock normally with fob just the siren wouldn't sound if someone broke in. I'm going to plug into my scanner later and see if any faults are logged regarding the alarm.
Thank you all for your replies, I shall be checking all sensors soon, but it's only doing it when on the busy main road, it's none gone off since I posted as I have been parked elsewhere where there is not much traffic.
Alarm units aren't cheap either approx. £150.
The alarm on my w211 has been going off when parked outside my house on a busy road, this has started happening only recently. I don't park on the main road very often because of parking restrictions but when I've parked somewhere with less traffic going past the alarm doesn't go off, from what...
Maybe normal but whose to say your stat might be faulty too. Fluctuations in temps within limits is acceptable, but these fluctuations in op car are too wide and I personally think that mb needs to sort it out. By the way my old w211's temp needle is always rock solid no fluctuations that I can...
