Don't worry about the DPF in a modern Merc it will do little regens all the time without you taking it for long runs etc. You will never notice it doing so.

I did the same, lots of strange and worrying messages came up, Oh no what have I done !! Put it on a charge overnight and it been fine ever since.

I would imagine the AMG models have a beef’d up version hence the more regular service intervals, or do they ?

Mine is unmarked also, apart from the crappy artico “leather” on the drivers seat bolster, that has a very slight split at 44,000 miles.

I think you should keep the original, performance filters won't make any difference.

Be very interesting to hear their independent opinion of the quality of removed ATF, also the reason for changing at 14,000 miles and 3 years. I can understand if the vehicle is doing 18,000 miles a year, and i can understand the reason you are changing it as (the very unlikely) failure would be...

I can't say I'm surprised the previous owner declined the ATF change at 3 years and 14,000 miles. How can this expensive high quality fluid be degraded in such a short mileage, do mercedes assume the car is driven on a race track every weekend ?

No, we had to buy 2 rears as they had lots of tread but showed signs of sidewall cracks, they were michelins and over 12 years old.

I agree, I bought the wife a 44000 mile Peugeot 207 ages ago from a little old lady, the rear tyres were still original and had loads of life left, the fronts were on there second set, doubt if on any front or rear wheel drive car will have equal wear. I don't see the point in changing all four...

My E250 has a top speed of around 150mph and returns average of 46 mpg according to stats I just looked up, if that’s correct then you won’t go far wrong, I used to have a BMW 325 petrol convertible that was smooth as silk but got fed up doing 25 mpg when the novelty had worn off.
