    Removing washer jets W209 CLK

Hi I’d like some advice on getting at the washer jets in my W209 CLK. One side is part blocked and just dribbles so I was hoping to remove it and either unblock or replace. However, I can’t get at the nozzle assembly. On the YouTube video for a CLK the structure is quite different so not much...

    Global opening windows

No but it's not difficult The most likely cause is a dry or corroded solder joint on the PCB. There are lots of videos on Youtube about how to do it and outlining which joint(s) to resolder. You have to take the door handle off, remove the PCB, resolder the joints and bingo. You may have a more...

Is it possible to tell whether the suspension needs renewing?

Quick follow up. Thanks for the advice. I took the car into my normal indie who is of the "if it ain't broke don't fix" school, but he agreed to have it on the ramp and check it out. Nothing obvious with the shocks but what he did find was the front shock absorber mountings both seriously worn...

Is it possible to tell whether the suspension needs renewing?

Thanks. I'm encouraged to read of the improvement to a CLK from a suspension renewal - mine has lower miles but is also a 2007. I've probably just got to bite the bullet and do as Codger49 has done and replace all the potentially worn parts. I estimate a cost of £1500 or so to be a lot cheaper...

Is it possible to tell whether the suspension needs renewing?

Is it possible to tell whether the suspension needs renewing? I’ve read about “tired” suspension and some forums recommend renewing shock absorbers at around 12 years old to retain optimum performance, even if they are not obviously leaking or malfunctioning. Is there any way of telling whether...

    Active suspension question

Hi folks, I am puzzled by the differences between the effects of various types of active suspension available. There is airmatic, adaptive damping and active body control (and probably others). From what I have read, I’d like to have a car with adaptive suspension and my ultimate would be an...

    Performance of a performance exhaust

Thanks for the comments. I saw a forum contribution (maybe on the OTHER forum) from someone who had a performance sounding rear box retro fitted for about £300 but I think you could run into trouble with the insurance company when answering the question "Has the car been modified in any way?" as...

    Performance of a performance exhaust

Hi I am thinking of buying a C43 which can come with the option of a performance exhaust. An option on the saloon & estate, standard on the coupe. As far as I can determine, this just makes a more satisfying noise and crackles on the downshift, but doesn't add anything to the performance of the...

Has anyone a pre 2018 C class brochure please?

Fantastic. Thanks. I would like to have a copy of the coupe brochure also please - I'll send you a PM. The current brochure covers the saloon, coupe and estate in one, and I was unaware that the earlier edition had the coupe separately. Buying second hand I can't be that choosy but a coupe is...

Has anyone a pre 2018 C class brochure please?

Hi, I am thinking of finally taking the plunge on a pre owned C43 which is likely to be the prefacelift version. however, I'd like a lot of toys, some of which were standard and some only available as options. I believe there are substantial differences in standard equipment between the two...

    Whose wheel caps are these?

Which I didn't need and wouldn't have bothered about except for the fact that the flaking paint after the original refurb had turned a mild scuff into a disaster. But yes, all four wheels are now immaculate again pending the inevitable ambush by pavement, which I hope this time will just remain...

    Whose wheel caps are these?

All sorted. They were very apologetic about the whole business. The car with the missing TPMS valves and centre caps was a 2014 C Class belonging to a dealer and hadn't been collected so the missing valves hadn't been noticed - but no doubt they would have been once the car came up with error...

    Whose wheel caps are these?

They found my caps once I sent them a picture. They don't want the metal valves, but nor do I so they are coming out with rebalancing etc on Wednesday. Makes me wonder why they even put them in. Any way, hopefully sorted.
