    Open/close windows with key fob

The global open/close works on my M340i (with comfort access) from inside the house. Close also works if I keep my finger on the lock sensor on the inside of the door handle. Same was true of my C43 and my previous Focus. Is it just the older cars that need to be in close contact?

Does Mercedes Me work over WiFi?

I don't believe so, I believe it uses an internal SIM to communicate over GPRS.

    Hi all

Welcome :) Having experienced a flat at motorway speeds myself, I continue to sacrifice a little comfort for runflat tyres.

Do we still have engine snobbery?

This. No snobbery here, but I prefer more than four cylinders for their characteristics. It's one of the many reasons I chose the M340i over the new C43.

Mercedes shuns a return to physical buttons

I think you are allowed to touch 'accept' and 'end call' on your phone, as long as you're not holding it.

Mercedes shuns a return to physical buttons

I think it's the way it's worded - you're not allowed to touch your device while holding it. https://www.gov.uk/using-mobile-phones-when-driving-the-law

The fact it's a C220 gives it away as a rule - AMG cars generally only have a two number designation - C43, C63, SL55, etc. As said a 'proper' AMG car is all about the engine. You may have AMG components such as wheels, suspension, body kit, etc which often leads to an AMG badge being put on the...

Mercedes shuns a return to physical buttons

It's not illegal to touch it, only to use it whilst holding it. Otherwise how would you answer a call?

Mercedes shuns a return to physical buttons

This was one of the things that annoyed my on my M340i, the heated seat controls take a couple of screen touches. But the voice control is actually really good so one press on a steering wheel button and the right command and I don't need to touch anything else.

    Starter Battery

My experience kind of sets an argument against that. Maybe it depends on car, software version, etc. I'd rather be safe than sorry and just get someone to do it.

    Starter Battery

    I don't think it's all about charge - it's about condition.

    Starter Battery

My experience with my C43 a year or so ago was that when the battery was replaced the dash went mad with warnings until the battery monitor was reset. You may have gotten away with it, others may not. It takes two minutes so not exactly a hardship.

    Dashboard Gone Wild with Warnings

Have you tested the battery? Sometimes a failing battery can cause all sorts of weird warnings.

    Starter Battery

If the battery management reset, using a scan tool, is not done when a new battery is installed, the system believes that the old battery is still installed and treats it as a weak, aged battery. This means that the various modules in the car will not receive full voltage even though it has a...

    Starter Battery

You need to reset the battery monitor so that it knows you've fitted a new battery, this is done by plugging into the OBD. I went to Halfords to have my battery replaced. I was glad I did because it's a hell of a fiddly job - took them a while and scraped all their knuckles. Plus they had the...

    TPMS & rotations of tyres

This was the case for many Ford cars during their change from DDS to TPMS, obviously before they decided it was too much admin and made the system better. Don't know if any other makes/models used this system, I can only talk from experience.

    TPMS & rotations of tyres

Which was my point, and with some systems this is indeed what happens. It appears MB systems do not work like this, based on other comments.
