My rear wiper on my 2008 211 estate goes from fully left to fully right but stops randomly, rather than stopping in the start position. I have to keep operating it until eventually it will end up at the start position.
Is it time for a new motor?
Cheers
Under the drain plug in the spare wheel compartment there appears to be another small compartment (that is currently holding water). I'm guessing it is supposed to drain out from under the car. As this doesn't appear to happen I would like to clean any drain holes but I cant seem to find them...
Ahoy Mighty Merc Enthusiasts!
My trusty steed has sprung a leak from her rear! IN an effort to find the source of said leak I have stripped her bottom end down by removing the seats, trim and rear carpet. Under the spare there was about 1mm of water. There isn't anything obvious apart from...
Arh, thanks for that, that was useful. I think I found the problem. Mine aren't on a ratchet, they are just on a spring and require the seat pan to be down in order to lock the back into place. One side was completely jammed solid with grease. A hammer and some penetration lube help free it up...
Well I've had a good look, in the area you suggest and I can see two clips that if pushed down, do lock the back. However there is nothing that goes into the clips.
I may need to strip it down and clean to see if that makes the difference.
Hello
Could you tell me if the back of the bench seat is supposed to lock into position? Mine just flops forward and is only held in the correct position by the weight of my Son.
I cant seem to find anything that it would clip into, even with the dog guard/boot cover removed, it still just...
Thanks for your reply.
I've dismantled the current set up and there is only one Male plug that goes into the existing (static) unit.
On the unit that has the hidden tray there are two Male plugs. I wonder if a female to female adapter exists?
Its always struck me as quite a convenient storage area under the HAZARD light/switch control panel on the centre console.
I know some cars have the facility already. For those of us without the tray/cd changer, is it possible to retrofit one?
Thanks in advance
Yes sorry, I understand that. My point being that with Arnott you need both sides doing, whereas i only want to change the faulty side.
Hope that makes better sense.
It transpires mine was a problem with an incorrectly fitted air spring. As it was fitted incorrectly it was rubbing on the strut and it had ruptured.
So for me it's a new spring.
I could go Arnott but the it requires both sides to be done.
I'll probably just go for an aftermarket one to...
Sorry you didnt get a reply.
For others who may find this post in the future; the sill can be removed. Often during removal the little tabs get bent out of shape.
It is counterintuitive but when replacing the sill, the tabs need to be squashed rather than opened out to make the fit work.
Thanks. Spoken to them already, its £1500 + vat. Special order from Germany 😮
I was wondering if there may be other options.
There are a few second hand ones on Ebay, but that is always a gamble.
