I remember when these were less than a tenner from the dealer.
MB cottoned onto that quickly :D
I wouldn’t put one on a classic either. W204 era or newer, IMO.
I think it looks good in that colour but the rear arches could do with getting brought out a bit. It sort of has a look of a C220d with a front end conversion.
What preventative maintenance is recommended?
Renewing the crankcase breathers?
I wonder if it’s worth doing similar preventative on the M177 LS1 in the C63?
Most people probably bought an AMG for their usual recipe of large capacity engines making lots of noise….
I personally have zero interest in a 4 cylinder or even a detuned 1.6 F1 engine - I’m just not sure what either really get you apart from maybe bragging rights of 700HP?
People have been...
Technically it’s impressive but there’s much more interesting machinery for £100k IMO - other estates included.
With the noise of the 4 pot you’d be better off going full electric. At least then you can get some decent savings via salary sacrifice or similar.
Given the weight and cost I’d...
Regarding left leg when cruising - you can buy a specific W205 dead pedal to protect the carpet on eBay.
I got mine from a guy in Australia, on eBay for about £40 and it uses small adhesive pads so is removable.
The cheaper ones looked not great when I was looking.
Why Merc didn’t fit one as...
Interesting to hear about CC’s process. I’ve read a couple of accounts from people dissatisfied with the whole thing as buyer / seller so it’s interesting to hear another take on how it works.
Often see cars getting bid by dealers (nothing wrong with that) and saw a McLaren 570 sell for about...
I have. I don’t leave mine connected all the time but no issue with this.
Can’t comment on sizes, IIRC I had to buy a small adaptor for my Noco charger with M10 holes (or possibly M8)
Agreed - MB and other manufactures aren’t fooled by a removing a tuning box just as reflashing a car to stock is easily checked.
No doubt they’d be checking carefully if you had a £10k or more warranty claim on the engine.
And FWIW the facelift version are 2019 onwards - with digital dash and the newer MBUX infotainment, and 9 speed gearbox amongst some other minor changes.
Some older prefacelift cars have the newer facelift facelift Panamericana grill fitted
I suppose at 36500 it’s less overpriced than when it was posted at £49,500 on Cutters a couple of weeks ago.
Has your wife told you to get rid and you’re doing the old ‘I’m trying to sell it… honest’ trick?
Probably the worst time of year to sell this sort of car… especially at an ambitious...
A nice little run about for sure! 4wd, perfect for winter. What’s not to like :D
I have spent quite a while coveting these myself - primarily due to 4wd. Pulling out of a roundabout with the C63 yesterday was ‘interesting’ due to lack of traction!
Disagree - plenty of people buy high performance or other higher end cars new, run them for two or three years and get a new one. They either don’t care or have bigger things to think about.
There’s plenty out there who don’t care about service requirements, running cars in or warm-up/cool down.
