The Garage is Boyds motor engineers. They were finalists for the "Top Garage Awards" last week so not sure how they got on. Believe they are building a nice new unit also near Lanark.

So just an update on the tyre wear. I have replaced the front tyres. The front suspension was inspected again and it's all looking fresh, bushes, shocks, arms, even bearings are all good and from receipts looks like MB have done all the work. The garage that did the tracking have a brand new...
Thanks for taking time to respond.
Absolutely agree. I've got it booked in at a wheel genie place near me tomorrow for further investigation.
Point taken. I just put 2 cross climates on the rear because I couldn't afford 4!! I'll wait to see the outcome of tomorrow before biting the bullet and...
Thanks for reply,
Just clocked 100k,
MB indi specialist,
Tyres were on the car when I bought it. They were pretty much new. Had it for 11 months and feels great and fun's without fault. Have receipts for every nut and bolt from MB and MB indi.
Hi All,
I've just taken the car in to get 4 wheel alignment and set of new rear michellin cross climates. Indi said I require new front tyres also. I have the MB recommended Pirelli tyres on the front (which I know aren't popular) but they've only done 5k miles and the extreme inner edge of them...
Hi All, can anyone tell the the correct part number for the wiring harness required between the SAM module in the the boot and the towbar control module? I have just fitted an OEM Swivel towbar and missing this last piece of the puzzle. I have found the attached online but don't think it's a UK...
I just managed to fix my retractable load cover by cleaning up and realigning the magnet connections at the bottom of the guide rails. Fuse number 11 on the w211 SAM module platform is also worth checking.
Hi All, I managed to source an original OEM Oris swivel towbar complete with the telescopic release mechanism and control module. Everything is fitted and mechanically sound. I just need to source a wiring harness between the SAM unit in the boot and the Towbar control module to allow the...
So apparently the car needs Service A. (100k miles service) MB charge £725 for this service, which also includes a coolant change. I checked with the local Indi and a coolant change is included in the £350 they quoted. Break flud is also due to be changed which is £65 which seems very...
Hi All,
I have been quoted £350 from my local Indi for a B service. Seems a bit heavy to me but can you confirm whether I'm just delusional or if this reasonable please?
Also, are there any specific essential 100k miles service items that need doing?
Cheers,
Cammie
13 years, wow that's rare now for people to keep their car for that long so testament to the E220! Sorry, I forgot to mention that I ended up getting a 2 year warranty included with the car. Probably not very good but a lot of parts are covered including steering rack, wheel bearing, auto gear...
Great advice, thanks for the post. Sold, set of winter tyres it is then. They're not cheap for this beast though. I've read a lot of positive reviews on various all season tyres too. Michelin crossclimates seem rank highly for snow and mud grip aswell as durability.
Hi,
I just wanted to write a quick post to say I've had the E280 for 9 months now and thoroughly enjoying it. Entirely subjective but I'd still argue that the Volvo seats have superior comfort but the overall driving experience is on another level, especially on longer journeys. This car does...
